11 booked during massive crackdown against criminals

ISLAMABAD: Capital Cops have arrested 11 within the past 24 hours, during a massive crackdown against criminal elements, while recovering narcotics, wine, valuables, cash, gambling tools and weapons from their possession.

According to details, following the directives of IGP Islamabad Muhammad Aamir Zulfqar Khan, DIG Operations Waqar-ud-Din Syed issued directions to all zonal officers for renewed efforts against those involved in anti-social activities. Thus, owing to these efforts, SP Industrial-Area Zubair Ahmed Sheikh constituted special police teams under the supervision of SDPOs Zohaib Nusrullah Ranjha, DSP Ghulam Muhammad Baqir including SHOs I-Area SI Khurram Shahzad, SHO Sabzi Mandi SI Imran Haider, SIs Adeel Shaukat, Muhammad Iqbal and ASI Madhi Khan busted Habib-ur-Rehman and Waseem Shahzad along a foreign national Kem while recovering 20 wine bottles, 220 grams hashish and one 30-bore pistol from their possession.
SP City Zone Omer Khan, on the other hand, constituted a special team under the supervision of ASP Akeela Niaz Naqvi including SHO Kohsar Inspector Muhammad Athar, ASI Shahzad Rafique along others. The given team initiated a raid at sector F-7/4 and arrested five gamblers red-handed.

They were later identified as Nadeem Maseeh, Zahid, Arik, Ashar and Jan Abrahim and recovered gambling money, mobile phones and gambling tools from their possession.
PS Karachi Company busted a thief Taswer Hussain and recovered stolen valuables from him. PS Shahzad Town caught accused Imran Shahzad and recovered a 30-bore pistol from him while the police team also arrested a PO wanted in theft case and recovered a 30-bore pistol from him. PS Lohibher also apprehended accused Rizwan and recovered 560 grams hashish from him. Separate cases were registered against these nabbed accused while further investigation is underway from the accused.
DIG Operations Islamabad Waqar-ud-Din Syed has said that the social evils would be curbed and those backing drug peddlers and professional beggars would be dealt with iron hands. He further emphasized that this campaign would continue till elimination of all anti-social elements.
