12 booked during massive crackdown against criminals

ISLAMABAD: Capital Cops booked 12 criminals during massive crackdown against anti-social elements, in the past 24 hours, here this Monday.
According to details, on the special orders of IGP Islamabad Muhammad Aamir Zulfqar Khan, DIG Operations Waqar-ud-Din Syed had issued the directions to all zonal officers. During last 24 hours, Islamabad police accelerated their efforts and held 12 criminals including four drug peddlers.
PS Bara Kaho teams arrested 03 drug pushers during this operation. The nabbed were latere identified as Muhammad Shehzad, Adeel Ahmed and Etsham. A total of 1260 grams hashish and 50 liters Alcohol was also recovered from the accused.
Furthermore, PS Shalimar arrested a drug pusher namely Shemsher Ahmed and recovered 1180 grams hashish from him. PS Nilor caught accused Umer Farooq and recovered one Kalashnikov along with ammunition from him. Homicide Unit nabbed accused Ghufran Hussain, involved in murder case and recovered one 30-bore pistol along with ammunition. PS Sihala apprehended accused zaigham abbas and recovered one 30 bore pistol from him.
Separate cases have been registered against the nominated accused while further investigation is underway. Meanwhile, during special crackdown in the whole city, police teams arrested six proclaimed offenders from various areas of the city.
DIG Operations Islamabad Waqar-ud-Din Syed has said that these social evils would be curbed and those backing those drug peddlers and professional beggars would be dealt with iron hands. He further emphasized that this campaign would be continued until elimination of those social criminals.
