ISLAMABAD: PS Tarnol arrested 15 gamblers during a raid at gambling den and recovered cash and gambling tools from their possession.
Following the directives of IGP Islamabad Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan, Islamabad police accelerated crackdown against those involved in anti-social activities.
According to the details, a PS Tarnol team headed by SHO Tarnol Muhammad Iqbal Gujjar along with other officials raided at a gambling den and arrested 15 gamblers red handed. Police recovered Rs. 205,000 cash, valuables and gambling tools from their possession.
The accused were identified as Solat Mehmood, Asif Butt, Tariq Mehmood, Ghulam Abbas, Mohsin Javed, Muhammad Ijaz, Muhammad Javed, Malik Muhammad Azam, Tariq Mehmood, Irfan Ashfaq, Ahmed Raza, Maqsood Ahmed, Usama Babar, Muhammad Adnan and Naeem Ahmed. Cases have been registered against the nominated accused, further investigation is underway.
IGP Islamabad Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan has appreciated this overall performance of the police teams and further ordered to intensify the crackdown. “Safety and security of the citizens is our foremost priority and no laxity will be tolerated in this regard” he added.
5 caught, drugs & liquor seized
ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Police arrested 5 criminals including drug peddlers and liquor seller from different areas of the city and recovered 260 gram hashish, 02 liquor canes and weapons with ammunition from their possession.
According to the details, following the directives of IGP Islamabad Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan, Islamabad police accelerated crackdown against criminal elements in order to reduce crime rate in the federal capital. In this regard special police teams from different police stations were formed to take stern action against those involved in anti social activities. Golra police team arrested an accused involved in drug peddling namely Muhammad Zahoor and recovered 260 gram hashish from his possession.
Similarly, Industrial Area police arrested two accused namely kamran Masih and Javed and recovered two liquor canes from their possession. Likewise, Nilore and Shamas Colony police teams arrested two accused namely Hammad Sadiq and Muhammad Imran for possessing illegal weapon and recovered one 9mm and 30 bore pistols with ammunition from their possession.
Cases against all the nominated accused have been registered and further investigations are underway.
