ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Capital Territory police have arrested 18 criminals including drug peddlers and illegal weapon handlers from different areas of the city, a police public relations officers said on Friday.
He said that during this crackdown, Secretariat police team arrested a car lifter namely Tariq Mehmood and recovered stolen car from him while another police team also apprehended three accused namely Tasawwer Hussain, Muhammad Abbas and Riasat Ali and recovered 1030 gram heroin, 10 liters alcohol and one 30 bore pistol along with ammunition from their possession.
Likewise, Kohsar police team arrested three accused namely Hamza, Shamshad Masih and Kaleem Masih and recovered 2360 gram heroin and one 30 bore pistol from their possession.
Similarly, Bhara Kahu police take stern action against illegal weapon handlers and arrested 03 accused namely Taimoor Ahmed, Tabraiz and Abid Abbasi and recovered two 30 bore pistols with ammunition and one dagger from their possession. Tarnol police team arrested 02 accused namely Naqi Raza and Muhammad Akram and recovered seven gram Ice and one 30 bore pistol along with ammunition from their possession. Moreover, Golra police team accelerated their efforts against drug peddlers and arrested accused namely Abu Bakar and recovered 1420 gram hashish from him. Ramna police arrested accused Sajjad involved in illegally oil selling.
Sabzi Mandi, Noon and Shams Colony police teams arrested 03 accused namely Muhammad Tariq, Imran, and Usman and recovered two 30 bore pistols with ammunition and one dagger from their possession.
Cases against all the nominated culprits have been registered and further investigations are underway.
DIG (Operations) Islamabad Sohail Zafar Chatha has appreciated this overall performance of the police teams and further ordered to intensify the crackdown. “Safety and security of the citizens is our foremost priority and no laxity will be tolerated in this regard”, he added.
