2 car lifters caught, 3 cars recovered

ISLAMABAD: Anti-Car Lifting Cell (ACLC) of Capital Cops on Wednesday arrested two, wanted by police in car lifting cases, and recovered three cars from them. According to details, following the directives of IGP Islamabad Muhammad Aamir Zulfiqar Khan, DIG Operations Waqar-ud-Din Syed assigned task to SP Investigation Dr.Syed Mustafa Tanveer, of accelerating efforts against car-lifters. Thus, following his directions, SP Investigation constituted a special team under the supervision of In-charge ACLC Sub-Inspector Liaqat Ali which also included ASIs Waheed Ahmed Allah Dad, Abdul Rehim and Nisar Ahmed and others. The team achieved success and apprehended car lifters of an inter-provincial car lifting gang.
The gangsters have been identified as Anwer s/o Zameer Shah resident of District Charsada and Gul Muhammad s/o Bismallah Khan resident of Sawabi. Three cars were also recovered from them while, they further confessed, during preliminary investigation, of lifting vehicles from various parts of the twin cities and selling them in various districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Separate cases have already been registered against them at PS Industrial Area and PS Defense, Lahore. Further investigation is underway from them and police is hopeful for further recoveries.
IGP Muhammad Aamir Zulfqar Khan and DIG Operations Waqar-ud-Din Syed has appreciated the performance of ACLC team. DIG Operations has further directed the officials to intensify efforts for curbing car/motorbike lifting incidents.
