ISLAMABAD: Capital Cops, while operating against anti-social elements, arrested 25 including two members of a dacoits’ gang and recovered snatched cash, mobile phone, valuables, narcotics and weapons from their possession.
According to details, IGP Islamabad Muhammad Aamir Zulfiqar Khan had ordered crackdown against criminals including those involved in dacoity incidents. Following these orders, DIG Operations Waqar-ud-Din Syed has directed all zonal officers to accelerate their efforts to curb the crime in the city.
Following these directions, SP Rural Malik Naeem Iqbal constituted a special team under supervision of DSP Rukhsar Medhi including PS Lohibher’s SHO and ASI Muhammad Sabbir along with other officials which successfully arrested a wanted member of mobile thief gang namely Sher Ahmed S/O Hashim Ali R/O Faisalabad and recovered stolen mobile phones from him. Cases haves been registered against him and further investigation is underway from him. The same cops also arrested four accused namely Shahban Zubair Iqbal, Waseem Rana and Rafique Javed involved in sheesha smoking.
Similarly, another team was formed by SP Industrial Area Zubair Ahmed Sheikh. The special team under the supervision of DSP Ghulam Muhammad Baqir including SHO Imran Haider along with others, arrested an Afghan national accused Najeebullah, involved in attempted murder case, and recovered one 30 bore illicit pistol along with ammunition from him. Cases have been registered against him and further investigation in underway from him. While police also arrested two accused Muhammad Hasnat and Rauf and two 30 bore pistol along with ammunition from their possession.
Furthermore SI Muhammad Iqbal along with others busted two members’ dacoit gang involved in snatching cash, and other valuables at gun point from the citizens. The gangsters have been identified as Adnan and Nadeem and recovered snatched cash and mobile phone and valuables from their possession and further investigation in underway from them. PS Margalla caught accused Muhammad Yousaf and recovered 170 gram hashish from him. PS Ramana booked accused Imran Muzafar and recovered 135 gram hashish from him. Noon police arrested accused Nasir Khan and recovered one 30 bore pistol from him. Separate cases have been registered against the nabbed persons and further investigation is underway from them. During special crackdown against absconders, on the other hand, Capital Cops nabbed 12 proclaimed offenders and court absconders from various area of the city.
DIG Operations Waqar-ud-Din Syed has appreciated the overall performance and directed all police officials to ensure effective policing measures in their respective areas.
