ISLAMABAD: SSP Operations Dr. Syed Mustafa Tanweer has said that Capital Cops conducted a grand search operation in the jurisdiction of Mara badia and surrounded areas and arrested 27 suspects.
Following special direction of IGP Islamabad Qazi Jamil-ur-Rehman and DIG Operations Afzaal Ahmad Kausar, SSP Operations told that 900 persons were searched by screening 400 houses. 60 motorbikes without documents and 27 suspects were shifted to police stations for interrogation. Two drug peddlers with 1020 gram hashish and 1100 gram heroine were also arrested while one pistol was also recovered from an accused during this search operation, he added
Dr. Syed Mustafa Tanveer maintained that the purpose of these search operations was to heighten the security of Federal capital and to curb the crime. He further directed all police officials for high vigilance and monitoring against those involved in anti-social activities.
The SSP emphasized that it is the collective responsibility of every person of the society to remain alert against those involved in criminal activities in their surroundings and inform police for action against them. “Safety of life and property of the citizens is our prime responsibility and no stone would be left unturned in this regard†the SSP added.
