ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Capital Police issued 2865 fine tickets to vehicles and bikes during last week for having unregistered and fancy or non-pattern number plates.
Following the special direction of IGP Islamabad Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan, the Islamabad capital police intensified action against the unregistered vehicles and having fancy or non-pattern number plates in the capital city. The action was also ordered against those vendors preparing such number plates.
Islamabad Capital Police expedited the campaign against unregistered and fancy or non-pattern number plates vehicles and issued 894 challans to unregistered vehicles and 1971 for having fancy or non pattern number plates.
Islamabad Capital Police urged the Drivers to display the number plates issued by Excise and Taxation Office and also keep with them their driving licenses and vehicles’ documents.
The Chief Traffic Officer said that, special squads have also been constituted to take action against un- registered vehicles and those who are using unauthorized number plates. Citizens are also requested to cooperate with police and display authorized number plates issued by the Excise and Taxation Office.
Zonal DSPs have been directed to accelerate efforts to ensure success of this campaign so that use of unregistered vehicles and unauthorized number plates can be reduced.
Action against unregistered and non-pattern number plate vehicles will be continued till the complete implementation of law, he added.
