ISLAMABAD: The Homicide Unit of Capital Cops traced a blind murder committed ten months before by unknown crooks during cash snatching attempt. According to details, a security guard Muhammad Naseer was killed while another Rub Nawaz was injured on 14th December last year when they resisted three unknown assailants during a cash snatching attempt. Following this incident, IGP Islamabad Muhammad Aamir Zuliqar Khan directed DIG Operations Waqar-ud-Din Syed to ensure the arrest of the killer. He constituted a special team headed by SP Rural Farooq Amjad Butar including Inspector Munir from Homicide Unit along others officials. The given team worked hard, investigated the case following modern investigation techniques and succeeded to arrest three accused Mohsin, Hamad and Adnan while further investigation is underway from the accused. DIG Operations Waqar-ud-Din Syed has appreciated the performance of SP Rural Farooq Amjad Butar as well as his team and announced cash prizes and commendation certificates for them.
21 caught with arms, drugs
ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Police have arrested 21 persons during the last 24 hours in its crackdown against drug pushers and criminal elements and recovered narcotics, wine and weapons from them, a police spokesman.
Following directions of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Muhammad Aamir Zulfqar Khan, Deputy Inspector General of Police (Operations) Waqar Ud Din Syed issued directions to all zonal officers for renewed efforts against those involved in anti-social activities.
SP (Saddar-Zone) Sarfraz Ahmed virk constituted a team under the supervision of DSP Khalid Mehmood Awan including SHO Tarnol police station Sub- Inspector Alamgir Khan, Sub-Inspectors Muhammad Khan, Shahid Asgher, ASI Muhammad Ishaq along with others. This team arrested four accused namely Nauman Pervez, Shaker, Dawood and Munwar and recovered 1.430 kilogram hashish and two pistols along with ammunition from their possession. Cases have been registered against the nabbed accused and further investigation is underway.
Meanwhile, ASP Rana Abdul Wahab including SHO Raman police station Sub-Inspector Tariq-Rauf along with others arrested two persons including a drug dealer Hafiez and recovered 1.265 kilogram from him. Police team also arrested accused Ajmal and recovered one 30 bore pistol along with ammunition from him. Cases have been registered against him and further investigation is under way from them.
Secretariat police arrested accused Nusrat Hussain and recovered 119 gram hashish from him. Banigala police arrested Qasim and Haseeb and recovered a total of 238 gram hashish from their possession. Shalimar police arrested an accused Fareed and recovered two liter alcohol from him. Industrial-Area police arrested accused Dawood Gul and recovered 20 liters alcohol from him. Sabzi Mandi police arrested two accused Roz Deen and Junaid and recovered 320 gram heroin and one pistol from their possession respectively.
Shams Colony police arrested an accused Irfan and recovered one 30 bore pistol from him. Lohibher police arrested accused Adnan Abu Baker and recovered 115 gram hashish from him while Ramana police arrested 03 persons involved in immoral activities.
Separate cases have been registered against the nabbed persons and further investigation is underway from them. During special crackdown against absconders, Islamabad police nabbed three proclaimed offenders and court absconders from various area of the city. DIG (Operations) Waqar Uddin Syed has appreciated this overall performance and directed all police officials to ensure effective policing measures in their respective areas.
