RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi Police, in its crackdowns on professional beggars, to discourage the menace of begging and avoid risk of road accidents due to jaywalking of tramps arrested 31 beggars.
On the directives of CPO Syed Shahzad Nadeem, the in-charge Beggars Squads, along with their respective teams, launched crackdowns against the professional beggars in different localities including business centres, traffic signals and public places in Rawalpindi. During separate actions, 31 professional beggars were rounded up who were being investigated after registering separate cases against them at concerned police stations. CPO Syed Shehzad Nadeem said the special beggar squad was working hard to overcome the increasing number of professional beggars.
