560 receive degrees at NUST College of E&ME convocation

ISLAMABAD: National University of Science and Technology (NUST) College of Electrical & Mechanical Engineering (EME) conferred 560 degrees to students successfully completed different programs.
Students were awarded degrees during the convocation held at Rawalpindi, which was graced by Maj Gen Atique Ahmed, HI (M) Director General Electrical and Mechanical Engineering (DG EME) as the chief guest. A large number of faculty members, students and their parents attended the event, said a press release here on Friday.
At the occasion, more than 560 Undergraduate, MS and PhD students were conferred degrees in the disciplines of Electrical, Mechanical, Computer & Software, Mechatronics Engineering, Engineering Management, and Applied Mathematics.
During his address, the chief guest congratulated the graduating students and commended the EME for maintaining quality standards in teaching and research.
He also lauded the college for its focus on research and development both at undergraduate and postgraduate levels and for maintaining the accreditation of its Engineering programmes as per the standards of the Washington Accord. Bestowing a few pieces of advice upon the graduates, the chief guest said, now that they had graduated, they needed to apply their skills into the real world.
He expressed confidence that they would apply the knowledge and skills gained at their alma mater to make a difference in the lives of the needy and deprived segments of the society.
President’s Gold Medals were also awarded to top performers. While teachers and others were also awarded.
