LANZHOU: Police have caught six suspected drug traffickers and seized about 2.75 kg of heroin from their possession in Linxia Hui Autonomous Prefecture, northwest China’s Gansu Province, local authorities said.
In mid-November, police in Linxia County received a tip-off that drug dealers had planned to traffic in drugs from China’s border province of Yunnan into Gansu by postal parcel. The police immediately set up a task force to investigate the case.
The police apprehended a suspect surnamed Ma near a courier service outlet in the prefecture on Sunday, with eight blocks of heroin in four packages seized on the spot. The other five suspects were arrested later. –PNP
