YUCHENG: Seven people were killed on Tuesday morning in a bakery fire in Yucheng City, east China’s Shandong Province, local authorities said in a statement. All of the casualties were family members of the bakery owner. Two other family members survived: one suffered non-life-threatening injuries and another was out jogging while the disaster took place. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined. Weeks earlier, 22 miners were trapped underground on January 10 following an explosion in the Hushan gold mine. The blast had cut all communications, which were partially restored with 12 miners that week.
