—— Arms, ammunition and explosives recovered from killed terrorists, says ISPR
RAWALPINDI: Security forces on Sunday killed at least eight terrorists during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’s South Waziristan district, the military said.
According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operation was conducted in the Sararogha area of the district after receiving reports about the presence of terrorists.
The killed terrorists remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities against security forces as well the innocent civilians. Arms, ammunition and explosives were also recovered from killed terrorists, it added.
The statement further said that a sanitisation operation is being carried out to eliminate any other terrorist found in the area as the security forces of Pakistan are determined to wipe out the menace of terrorism from the country.
Meanwhile, At least two Pakistan Army soldiers embraced martyrdom during an improvised explosive device (IED) exploded on a convoy of security forces in North Waziristan district, the military said in a statement.
According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), resident of district Karak 33-year-old Lance Naik Ehsan Badshah and resident of district Kurram 30-year-old Lance Naik Sajid Hussain were martyred in Razmak area of the district.
The statement said that a sanitisation operation is being carried out to eliminate any terrorists present in the area as the security forces of Pakistan are determined to eliminate the menace of terrorism and such sacrifices of our brave soldiers further strengthen our resolve. –Agencies
