90 including 26 members of eight gangs busted, claims SP Investigation

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Police Anti Robbery Dacoity Unit police team arrested 90 criminals including 26 members of eight criminal gangs, involved in dacoity, snatching, house burglaries activities and recovered 20 motorbikes, cash, mobile phones, laptops, gold ornaments, and weapons used in crime from their possession.


According to details, the SP Investigation Rukhsar Mehdi said in a press conference on Monday that the police teams of Anti Robbery Dacoity Unit have taken effective action during the last three weeks with the help of technical and human means.
He further said that, the police team also arrested 90 criminals; including 26 members of eight gangs. Police team also recovered 20 stolen motorbikes, gold ornaments, cash, mobile phones, laptops and weapons used in crime from their possession.
During preliminary interrogation, the accused confessed to being involved in snatching activities in the twin cities. Cases were registered against the nabbed accused and further investigation is underway.
SP Investigation Rukhsar Mehdi has appreciated the performance of the police teams of Anti Robbery Dacoity Unit. He further directed all senior officials for effective crackdown against the accused involved in criminal activities and ensured the safety of lives and property of citizens on priority basis.
He urged citizens to report any suspicious individual or activity through the emergency helpline “Pucar-15” or via “ICT-15” app.
