KUNMING: Police have caught three suspects from a drug trafficking case in southwest China’s Yunnan Province, with 14.98 kg of methamphetamine seized.
After receiving a tip-off, police in the city of Jinghong, Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture in the border province, sent a task force to investigate the case.
On April 3, local police caught three suspects in Jinghong when they were transporting the drugs. Two vehicles were also seized at the site.
Further investigation is underway.
Yunnan is a major front in China’s battle against drug crime, as it borders the Golden Triangle known for its rampant drug production and trafficking. – Agencies
