19 held during massive crackdown

ISLAMABAD: Cops booked 19 during massive crackdown against criminals, in mere 24 hours and recovered narcotics and ammunition.
According to details, following the directives of IGP Islamabad Muhammad Aamir Zulfiqar, DIG Operations Waqar-ud-Din Syed issued directions to all zonal officers for renewed efforts against those involved in anti-social activities. Thus, owing to these efforts, PS Kohsar caught two accused Nadeem Ahmad and Muhammad Nasir, while recovering 220 grams of hashish and 115 grams of heroin from their possession. PS Bara Kaho, on the other hand, booked 3 namely Adnan Maseeh, Asim and Adeel and recovered 20 litres of alcohol and 2 pistols along with ammunition, from their possession.
PS Golra arreted accused Shafiq Khan and Adeel while recovering two 30-bore pistols along with ammunition from their possession. PS Industrial Area apprehended Muhammad Usman and Muhammad Altaf, involved in illegal sale of diesel. The same cops also nabbed Hasnain Shah and Abdullah Javed and recovered a 12-bore gun along a wine bottle from their possession. PS Sabzi Mandi busted Amjad Nawaz and recovered kites from him. PS Sihala held Hassan Imtiaz and recovered 320 grams of hashish from him. Separated cases have been registered against the apprehended accused while further investigation is underway from them. Similarly, during special crackdown against absconders, Capital Cops nabbed five proclaimed offenders and court absconders from various parts of the city. DIG Operations Waqar-ud-Din Syed has said that these social evils would be curbed and those backing drug peddlers and professional beggars would be dealt with iron hands. He further emphasized that the campaign would continue till the elimination of all anti-social elements.
