ISLAMABAD: SP Industrial Area Zubair Ahmed Sheikh suspended three cops over corruption charges while issuing showcause notice to PS Sabzi Mandi’s SHO for poor supervision, here this Friday.
Moreover, complaints regarding corruption were received against the given cops performing duties at CDA Police Picket. DIG Operations ordered for suspending the cops and for conducting an inquiry against the same. SP Industrial Area would conduct inquiry and after his report further action would be initiated against the suspended cops.
DIG Operations Waqar-ud-din Syed has said that a policy of zero tolerance against corruption is being pursued in Capital Cops as this menace seriously undermines the country.
Capital Cops, following directives of IGP Islamabad Muhammad Aamir Zulfiqar Khan, have started an accountability system to monitor performance of the cop officials and disciplinary action is taken against those involved in dereliction of duties, negligence, poor investigation, absence and involvement in corruption.
DIG Operations further stated that accountability system helps in improving the performance of any department and working of the staff can be easily judged through it. He said that such accountability system would continue in future and those performing well would be encouraged.
