-Proclaimed offenders, court absconders also held

ISLAMABAD: Crime Investigation Agency; CIA of Capital Cops, has nabbed a swindler who, in guise of a cop used to supply narcotics in various parts of the Capital.
According to details, SP Investigation Dr.Syed Mustafa Tanveer directed DSP CIA Hakim Khan to constitute special teams for arrest of narcotics’ suppliers in the city. One of the teams headed by Inspector Abdul Ghafoor including ASI Asim Ali Zaidi and others, nabbed a drug pusher Jehangir Khan from a filling station at sector D-17. The accused produced his photo before the police team at the time of arrest showing him as senior rank officer of police. The police team found it fake on verification and also recovered 1150 gram heroin from him. It is learnt that he used to supply narcotics in various parts of the Capital after purchasing it from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Moreover, the accused had also been posted his pictures in police uniform at social media and further investigation is underway from him. DIG Operations Waqar-ud-Din Syed has appreciated this performance of CIA team while announcing cash prizes and commendation certificates for the team members. He said that their names would be forwarded to the IGP Islamabad Muhammad Aamir Zulfiqar Khan for special prize.
DIG Operations has also directed for effective crackdown against those involved in drug pushing activities and strict action against them as par law.
Meanwhile, on the directives of DIG Operations and in continuation with the drive against proclaimed offenders and court absconders, PS Industrial Area booked 6 proclaimed offenders and 3 court absconders. PS Sabzi Mandi arrested Abida Rafaqat, a proclaimed offender in murder case since 2018 and Waqar Shah, proclaimed offender in dacoity since 2018.
Similarly, PS Industrial Area busted Babur Arif Maseeh, proclaimed offender since 2015 in 406/34 PPC. Muhammad Tanveer and Zafar Mahdi proclaimed offenders since 2018 in 420/468/471/506/380, were also caught. Similarly, PS Noon apprehended accused Muhammad Rafique, proclaimed offender since 2015 in 496A/376 PPC. In addition, Ahmed yar, court absconder since 2017 in 489 F and Raja Muhammad Ashraf who was court absoconder since 2018 in 489 F, were also nabbed. Moreover, Aman Ullah court absconder in 13/20/65 PPC, was also arrested.
DIG Operations has appreciated the police performance on this commendable achievement.
