44 held during crackdown against criminals

ISLAMABAD: Capital Cops have arrested 44 persons during the last 24 hours in its crackdown against drug pusher, criminal elements and recovered narcotics, wine weapons, stolen bike, cash, currency and weapon from them.
Following directions of IGP Muhammad Aamir Zulfqar Khan, Deputy Inspector General of Police (Operations) Waqar Ud Din Syed issued directions to all zonal officers for renewed efforts against those involved in anti-social activities.
Owing these efforts, SP Saddar Zone Sarfraz Ahmed Virk constituted police team under the supervision of ASP Rana Abdul Wahab including SHO Shalimar police station Sub-Inspector, Sulman shah along with others apprehended a former jail bird Sher Hassan Afghani and recovered Cash, Currency and gold ornaments, wrist watches, mobile phones and valuable from him. During the interrogation he confessed involved in various cases and further investigation is underway from him.
Further-more Tarnol police arrested seven accused Muhammad Akram, Kamran Khan, Sheriz Khan , Safed Khan, Farooq, Taj Muhammad and Mazher Iqbal and recovered 715 gram heroine, 120 gram hashish, two pistols 30 bore from their possession. Shalimar police arrested two accused Nazeer and Dansih involved in illegelly oil selling. Ramana police arrested 03 accused Imdad, Nasir and Sohail and recovered snatched valuables from their possession.
Sabzi Mandi police apprehended four accused namely Qasim Khan, Gul Nawaz, Kamal Jan and Khan Muhammad and recovered pistol 30 bore, 385 gram hashish, amd 140 gram heroine from their possession.
Shehzad Town police arrested accused Qass and recovered 1.110 kilogram hashish from him. Khanna police arrested accused Adnan and recovered 1.050 kilogram hashish from him. Nilor police arrested accused Abran and recovered one 30 bore pistol from him. Koral police arrested 03 drug peddlers namely Mohsin, Qasim and Jonson and recovered 20 bottles wine, 1.140 kilogram hashish and 300 gram heroine from him.
Kohsar police arrested two accused Adeel Ahmed and Taimoor and recovered 465 gram hashish from their possession.
Separate cases have been registered against the nabbed persons and further investigation is underway from them. During special crackdown against absconders, Islamabad police nabbed 13 proclaimed offenders and court absconders from various area of the city.
DIG Operations Islamabad Waqar-ud-Din Syed has said that these social evils would be curbed and those backing those drug peddlers and professional beggars would be dealt with iron hand. He further emphasized that this campaign would continue till elimination of anti-social elements.
