Islamabad to boost scientific cooperation with Bishkek

Bishkek: The capital city of Pakistan, Islamabad hosted a meeting of Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to Pakistan Emir Beishembiyev and Federal Minister of Science and Technology of Pakistan Chaudhry Fawad Hussain.
As press service of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry reported, issues of increased cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Pakistan in the sphere of science and technology amid COVID-19 pandemic were discussed at the meeting.
Minister Chaudhry Fawad Hussain expressed readiness of the Pakistani side to intensify scientific cooperation with the Kyrgyz Republic, exchange experience on the latest technologies with Kyrgyz colleagues, as well as informed about Pakistan’s scholarship programs and readiness to receive Kyrgyz specialists in the republic.
Meanwhile, Kyrgyzstan reported 439 new confirmed COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, bringing the nationwide tally to 11,977.
Among the new cases, 105 are medical workers, raising the tally of contracted medical workers to 1,980, including 576 recoveries, said Ainura Akmatova, head of the public health care department of the country’s Health Ministry. Akmatova said that 91 COVID-19 patients were discharged from hospitals on Wednesday. In total, 5,314 patients have fully recovered from the infection, including 1,654 who received treatment at home. There are currently 645 confirmed cases who are still being treated in hospitals, among whom 18 patients are in intensive care units and another 5,858 asymptomatic patients are in home quarantine.
