6 killed in Afghanistan’s bomb blast

KABUL: Six civilians were killed and one civilian was wounded after a roadside bomb struck a van in Afghanistan’s western Nimroz province on Wednesday, the country’s Defense Ministry confirmed Thursday. “The Improvised Explosive Device (IED) explosion occurred in Khash Rod district when the innocent civilians were travelling on the van in the desert region. The pressure-plate IED was planted by the enemies of the peace,” the ministry said in a statement. More than 800 civilians were killed and over 2,330 others wounded in IED explosions in 2019.–Agencies
