-Dies of sudden cardiac arrest in India

Karachi: Former Australian cricketer and Karachi Kings head coach Dean Jones has passed away at the age of 59.
He died to a heart attack on Thursday in Mumbai as he was in India as a broadcaster for the IPL. He was currently the head coach of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise Karachi Kings.
According to reports, Dean finished the breakfast and then chatted with his fellow colleagues in his hotel in South Mumbai.
Suddenly, he fell down and collapsed following he was rushed in a standby ambulance to the nearby hospital but the hospital authorities declared him dead on arrival.
Dean Jones played 52 Tests and 164 ODIs for Australia during which spanned 8 years between 1984 and 1992. He scored 3631 runs in red-ball cricket at an average of 46.55 with 11 hundred and 14 half-centuries. In ODIs, he registered 6068 runs at 44.61 with 7 hundred and 46 fifties.
PSL’s most popular franchise Karachi Kings issued a pre-release on the sudden demise of Deano. “Today, the whole cricket fraternity and especially the Karachi Kings family is in a state of shock and despair, at the sudden demise of Dean Jones.”
“The community lost a true soldier of the game passionately in love with the sport he both played and later went on to commentate on as well as a coach; while the Karachi Kings have lost their guide, friend, and motivator through the ordeals of the game both on and off the field,” it added.
