BEIJING: The 2020 Beijing Fringe Festival kicked off in the Chinese capital on Friday, with more than 30 domestic and foreign plays expected to be staged online or offline.
The festival was unveiled with a drama featuring ordinary people’s lives in Beijing over the past 20 years. The play, whose title translates as “a beautiful day,” was performed at the National Theater of China (NTC) on Friday evening.
Audiences can also enjoy live music shows, the recitation of original scripts, and exchanges and discussions on plays during the event. The festival was co-sponsored by the NTC and the Beijing Federation of Literary and Art Circles. – Agencies
