College sealed after 3 teachers found positive with COVID

RAWALPINDI: A college in Rawalpindi was sealed on Friday after three of it’s teachers contracted coronavirus. The Government Degree College in Satellite Town was shut down on the order of the Rawalpindi deputy commissioner after coronavirus reports of three teachers came back positive. Deputy Commissioner Captain Anwarul Haq said coronavirus samples were taken from 104 students and teachers, of which three were declared positive. He said the college will remain closed for one week i.e. from October 23 to 29. On Thursday, the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) authorities had closed Fazaia Medical College for one week after eight positive coronavirus cases emerged. All academic activities had been stopped at Fazaia Medical College till November 1st. The Islamabad administration had issued a notification in this regard. On Wednesday, at least 61 doctors of Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) had been infected with the coronavirus. According to details, 61 doctors of various departments had contracted the virus in the recent Covid-19 wave. Nine doctors of general surgery department, seven child specialists, seven doctors of medicine team department, six gastroenterologists, five heart specials, two orthopaedics and one doctor of cancer ward had also been confirmed with the virus. The PIMS staff infected with the virus had been quarantined at homes.
