-Says India intentionally targeting civil population
RAWALPINDI: The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Qamar Javed Bajwa Wednesday visited Headquarters Rawalpindi Corps.
According to the details, on the prevalent situation along Line of Control (LoC), the COAS was given a comprehensive briefing as well as on the operational preparedness of the formations.
Gen. Qamar Javed Bajwa also appreciated the Kashmir populations’ pliability, who are being targeted on both sides of the LoC by the Indian army.
COAS said, “Pakistan Army shall continue to ensure the protection and security of people along LOC.”
During his visit, the COAS was also briefed about the development work in Rawalpindi Cantonment. Gen. Qamar also expressed his satisfaction over the progress and in this regard, he also appreciated the administration.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) a 45-year-old civilian sustained injuries in an Indian ceasefire violation along the Line of Control (LoC) on Tuesday. “Indian unprovoked ceasefire violation in Bagsar Sector along LoC targeting civil population. A 45 years old man got injured and evacuated to nearby hospital for necessary medical care,” the military’s media wing said in a statement. Indian occupation forces along the LoC and the Working Boundary (WB) have been continuously targeting civilian populated areas with artillery fire, heavy-calibre mortars and automatic weapons.
This year, India has committed 2,581 ceasefire violations to date, resulting in 19 martyrdoms and serious injuries to 200 innocent civilians.
Last month, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa, during a visit to forward areas at Chamb Sector along the disputed border, asked troops to extend all-out support to the local population affected by unprovoked Indian ceasefire violations. It is pertinent to mention here that earlier on 3rd November, Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa had visited Frontier Works Organisation (FWO) Headquarters.–ISPR
