NEW DELHI: China has barred non-Chinese travelers from India, imposing some of the most stringent entry curbs of any country as coronavirus cases surge around the world.
A statement issued by Chinese embassy in India said “due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it is hereby announced that China has decided to temporarily suspend the entry into China by the foreign nationals in India holding valid Chinese visas or residence permits”.
Beijing has also suspended entry of foreign nationals from Britain, France, Belgium, the Philippines, imposing some of the most stringent entry curbs of any country as coronavirus cases surge around the world.
Belgium has Europe’s highest per capita number of new confirmed cases, while France and India are among the top five countries in the world with the most infections.–Agencies
