Bishkek: Acting President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Prime Minister Sadyr Zhaparov got acquainted with the activities of KAZ Minerals Bozymchak LLC in Ala-Buka region.
According to the press service of the Kyrgyz Government, the visit took place as part of Zhaparov’s working trip to Dzhalal-Abad Oblast.
During the meeting with Ala-Buka region residents, Acting President Zhaparov answered questions about the border areas, the fight against corruption and further development of the country.
According to him, Uzbekistan is also interested in peaceful resolution of the border issue. He added that a project had been developed under which the State Border Service would become part of the State Committee for National Security.
Concerning the field of subsoil use, Sadyr Zhaparov noted the special importance of this industry for the country’s economy.
“According to estimates of Eti Bakyr Terek-Sai, when it reaches full capacity, the budget will receive USD 63 million. This is a very large sum. They have undertaken to allocate USD 3 million 570 thousand to Chatkal region. Besides, Kyrgyzaltyn OJSC will receive USD 20 million of dividends. This is a state enterprise. In my opinion, we should not hinder the activities of companies that operate legally and bring income to the state,” the acting president said. The meeting also touched upon the issue of roads of local and state importance. Sadyr Zhaparov instructed relevant state and local authorities to make specific proposals on their solution. Acting President of Kyrgyzstan, Prime Minister Sadyr Zhaparov is in south of the country for working visit.
He already held meetings with residents of Batken and Osh Oblasts.
Meanwhile, “I will step down as acting president until Nov. 14 to participate in the early presidential elections,” Acting President, Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov told in an interview.
Zhaparov said that he has the right to participate in the upcoming elections if he resigns before the end of the registration of candidates.
The early presidential elections will be held on Jan. 10, 2021.
As of Nov. 4, 2020, the Central Election Commission of Kyrgyzstan received 7 applications from citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic on self-nomination as candidates for the post of president – Adakhan Madumarov, Arstanbek Abdyldaev, Kuban Choroev, Nazarbek Nyshanov, Bektur Asanov, Bakyt Baketayev and Kanat Isayev.
Earlier, As part of his working visit to Dzhalal-Abad Oblast of Kyrgyzstan, Acting President, Prime Minister of the republic Sadyr Zhaparov got acquainted with the progress of construction of a gold-processing plant at the Terek-Sai deposit.
According to the press service of the Kyrgyz Government, representatives of the Eti Bakyr Terek-Sai Kyrgyz-Turkish company said the construction of the gold-processing plant was suspended due to a delay in equipment from abroad.
