United States Presidential election shows division

WASHINGTON: Regardless of the outcome of the presidential race to the White House, which is linked to the Democratic candidate, Joe Biden, these elections showed the extent of the division in the United States, and the fear that he is the rule rather than the exception.
Biden has come close to winning the 2020 elections, he is now separated from the reins of government by the votes of only one state, which will be the decisive factor for the most convergent elections in the history of the United States, especially as it gets 264 votes in the electoral college waiting for 6 votes to reach the number 270 needed to resolve and declare victory, while President Donald Trump continued to number 214 votes.
And with a quick reading of the American media and their electronic platforms, it clearly reveals to us the acute state of division that American society has witnessed, so that some observers of the American issue have considered it an exceptional case, which may not have been witnessed by the United States since its establishment in 1776 AD.
There is no doubt that the election race took place in unusual circumstances, as the Corona pandemic has taken the achievements of President Trump unheeded, and the Democrats took advantage of this difficult situation and pointed their fingers at him and his administration, which was unable to contain the crisis nor avoid its negative consequences and effects on all walks of life.
Likewise, voters have never faced a test, as was the case in the 2020 elections, which coincided with widespread controversy and disagreements on all issues and files in the country, from Corona to the economy, and from international relations to ethnic affiliations, racism, weapons, health insurance and others.
Candidate Biden spoke yesterday, announcing that he will govern as an American president, not as a Democratic candidate, and said: There will be no red and blue states when we win. Only the United States, while President Trump called for a halt and suspension of vote counting in the remaining states.
According to reliable American sources, the atmosphere inside the White House is gloomy and tense, and the general mood is escalating and there is a consensus to go to court. It seemed that the Democrats and Republicans are ready for a judicial confrontation to decide in the name of the winner in the close-ended presidential elections, and the Supreme Court will be the highest judicial body that can be referred to, but it is not obliged to accept the files that are submitted to it.
The Hill newspaper claimed that the uncertainty about the winner in the elections, and the early announcement of President Trump’s victory, opened the door wide for misinformation and electoral jurisprudence. In return, the Democratic candidate received more than 71 million votes, the largest number in the history of the United States.
Official Arab sources believed that what is important in the American elections are their effects and results on the Arab region, its hot and thorny issues and files, whether President Donald Trump continues in office or his Democratic successor, Joe Biden.
The sources said: It is true that the US President has wide powers and the Republican and Democratic parties have different agendas in the way they deal with the region’s files, but the United States is a state of institutions.
