12 held during crackdown against outlaws

ISLAMABAD: Capital Cops, in a bid to tighten noose around anti-social elements, busted 12 in mere 24 hours, through crackdown against drug pushers and criminal elements, while recovering narcotics and wine from the accused.
According to details, following the directives of IGP Islamabad Muhammad Aamir Zulfqar Khan, DIG Operations Waqar-ud-Din Syed issued directions to all zonal officers for renewed efforts against those involved in anti-social activities. Thus, owing to these efforts, SP Rural Zone Farooq Amjad Buttar constituted police team under the supervision of DSP Qasim Niazi including SHO koral
police station Inspector Asjad Mehmood, ASI Muhammad Rasheed along with others that apprehended a bootlegger Asad Mehmood from Burma Stop and recovered 72 wine bottles from him. A case has been registered against the accused while further investigation is underway from him.
Meanwhile, PS Aabpara arrested bootlegger namely Muhammad Aamir and recovered four wine bottles and four tin beer from him. PS Sabzi Mandi caught a drug peddler namely Yaseen and recovered 550 grams heroine from him, while the police team also arrested two professional alm seekers namely Ghulam Muhammad and Aamir. Separate cases have been registered against these nabbed accused while further legal proceedings are underway against them. During special inspection in the whole city, the police teams nabbed seven proclaimed offenders.
DIG Operations Islamabad Waqar-ud-Din Syed has said that these social evils would be curbed and those backing drug peddlers and professional beggars would be dealt with iron hand. He further emphasized that this campaign would continue till elimination of anti-social elements.
