Shibli slams opposition for holding rallies

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Shibli Faraz has strongly criticized the opposition and said that holding rallies in the current situation is dangerous and irresponsible.
Addressing a press conference in Islamabad, he said that we are dealing with the extremely corrupt, they consider themselves above the law and they’re the ones who have paralyzed the institutions.
The attitude of the opposition is irresponsible, they are putting innocent lives at risk while their own family members are living abroad, he said.
He said that the administration must also play its part to prevent the spread of the virus and appealed to the public to not attend mass rallies, whether they’re of the opposition or the government.
The minister said that like the rest of the country in 2018, the people of Gilgit-Baltistan also rejected the opposition, their cries of foul play are baseless.
“We want to protect people’s lives and businesses,” Shibli Faraz said. PTI has postponed all its rallies due to coronavirus, we do not want it to spread in the country again. The pandemic is a serious issue and should not be politicized, he added.
