Uzbekistan to increase exports

Tashkent: Next year, the volume of Uzbekistan’s exports will make about USD 17 billion.
This was announced during a meeting chaired by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
According to the press service of the Uzbek president, the meeting considered issues of efficiency of the work and the main objectives for 2021 in the field of investment and foreign trade in the republic.
Special attention will be paid to chemical industry, energy, geology, electrical engineering and light industry.
Next year, it is planned to attract more than USD 7.5 billion of direct foreign investment.
“It is indicated on the importance of introducing from Jan. 1, 2021 a new system of implementation of projects financed by loans from international financial institutions, conducting appropriate training of managers and employees of “project offices” for effective implementation and ensuring efficiency of funds for each project,” the report says.
The volume of exports is predicted to make about $17 billion. In this regard, responsible persons have been instructed to conclude export contracts in advance, and to establish a system of pre-export financing from the Export Support Fund from Jan. 1.
