‘Individuals playing with ‘chicken-hearted’

Lahore: Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi has emphasized that most of the national team’s members are playing with a ‘chicken-hearted’ approach under current management led by head coach Misbah-ul-Haq.
The 40-year-old stated that talent is of no use if an individual doesn’t absorb pressure at the highest level.
“I’m looking in some of our players that they are playing with the heart of a chicken. Doesn’t matter how much talent one has. International cricket is all about courage and absorbing pressure otherwise one can’t survive,” Afridi said while talking to reporters last night. “There’s a need to change players’ approach and the management has to give confidence as this is Pakistan’s best available talent,” he added. It must be noted that the national side is under severe criticism due to bad performances in away conditions. Pakistan recently lost the T20I and Test series in New Zealand.
