Capital Cops bust 18 land grabbers with arms

ISLAMABAD: Capital Cops booked 18 for firing incident regarding a land dispute, at PS Banigala jurisdiction area, while recovering arms and ammunition from their possession. Raids are being done for the arrest of the rest of the culprits. A case has been registered under Anti-Teerorism Act. Moreover, the controversial land has been sealed and a huge amount of cop personnel have been deputed at the place.
According to details, IGP Islamabad Qazi Jameel-ur-Rehman, took note of the firing incident at PS Banigala jurisdiction area and asked DIG Operations Afzaal Ahmad Kauser for an investigative report along directing to register a case against the accused and to ensure arrest of the culprits. At this, the cops took immediate action and booked 18 accused including two with arms and ammunition.
As a result of fire between two rival groups on some land despute, one lost his life while another was injured. As soon as the news of the incident reached DIG Operations directed SSP Operations Dr.Saeed Mustafa Tanweer and SP City Omar Khan, to reach the scene and inspect the place. SSP Operations and SP City, along a large contingent of cops and District Administration officers, instantly reached the spot and sent the injured to the hospital.
Special teams were formed for the arrest of the culprits while the place was sealed then and there. A case was registered against the accused under Anti-Terrorism Act. Thus, 18 culprits were arrested and sent to jail, in this regard out of which, arms and ammunition were also recovered from two. Special teams, on the other hand, have been constituted for the arrest of the other culprits, involved in the firing incident. DIG Operations Afzaal Ahmad Kauser has said that land mafia and other law breakers disrupting peace of the society, would be dealt with iron hands. He warned that the culprits, no matter how dangerous they might think they are, won’t be spared by the law.
