Karachi: Former speedster Shoaib Akhtar met Pakistan’s MMA Fighter Ahmed Mujtaba in Islamabad after returned to the country, winning his fight against India’s Rahul Raju in Singapore.
Mujtaba stunned the MMA fraternity by knocking out his Indian counterpart in just 56 seconds to win his lightweight match at One Championship Unbreakable III.
Prior to his fight, Akhtar promised the fighter to receive him at the airport on his return as a victor. But, Mujtaba asked him to not come to the airport due to the current COVID-19 pandemic and promised him a meetup soon.
Now, both have met in Islamabad and Mujtaba shared the moment on his Instagram. “Inshallah great things coming ahead. Being a Role model for Youth I will do my best so that our upcoming talent can do wonders as well. Thank you, for the love and support. Remember me in your prayers,” he wrote. It must be noted here that this win was Mujtaba’s third win on the global stage and it has also improved his overall record to 10-2. – Agencies
