Japanese Envoy condemns killing of NGO workers

-Forces gun down terrorist involved in killing of NGO workers

Islamabad: H.E. Mr. MATSUDA Kuninori, Ambassador of Japan to Pakistan, has condemned the terrorist gun attack in North Waziristan area which took place on Monday, in which four female vocational trainers were shot dead and their driver injured while reportedly driving through a village to provide vocational training to local women.
In his message, Ambassador MATSUDA on Tuesday said, “I am deeply saddened and shocked by the killing of four innocent women in North Waziristan area. I extend my deepest sympathies and heartfelt condolences to the grieving families and pray for the speedy recovery of those injured in the cowardly attack targeting women.”
The Ambassador said that Japan strongly condemns terrorism in all its forms and manifestations and we will continue to support the efforts by Pakistan to combat terrorism.
Meanwhile, Security forces on Tuesday killed a terrorist during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in North Waziristan area of KP province over his involvement in shooting dead four female workers in the area a day before, according to Inter Services Public Relations.
According to the ISPR, the security forces conducted a raid in the Mir Ali area of North Waziristan and killed a commander of Hafiz Gul Bahadur terror outfit after an intense exchange of fire.
He is identified as Hasan aka Sajna and the army’s media wing said that he was involved in killing four female workers yesterday.
He was also involved in attacks on security forces and target killings of citizens in the area besides also wanted by the authorities for his role in kidnapping for ransom, extortion and preparation of IEDs.
The security forces, according to the ISPR, also recovered weapons and ammunition from his possession.
