18 drug peddlers held in 3 days, drugs’ cache recovered

ISLAMABAD: SSP Operations Dr.Syed Mustafa Tanveer on Tuesday said that 18 persons were arrested during last three days in massive crackdown against drug peddlers including those supplying drugs to students at educational institutions and cache of narcotics was recovered from them.
Following directions of IGP Islamabad Qazi Jamil-ur-Rehman and DIG Operations Afzaal Ahmad Kausar, he said special police teams were constituted by Senior Superintendent of Police Operations Dr. Syed Mustafa Tanveer to launch massive crackdown against drug pushers. These teams raided in different areas of the city and apprehended 18 drug peddlers including three foreigners and recovered a total of 3080 gram hashish, 450 gram heroin, 1301 grams Ice and 140 Ecstasy pills.
According to the details, PS Secretariat arrested four drug peddlers including two foreigners namely Ezema, Muritala , Liaqat, Riaz Khan and recovered 110 gram hashish, 351 gram ice and 15 pills of Ecstasy. PS Tarnol busted four accused Farooq, Shafqat, Taj Muhammad, Ali and recovered 900 gram hashish, 170 gram Ice and 170 Ecstasy pills.
Likewise, PS Sabzi Mandi booked six drug peddlers namely Bilal, Adnan, Ahmad Shah, Zamurd Shah, Shehzad and Israr Hussain and recovered 2070 gram hashish, 675 gram Ice and 450 Gram heroin. PS Lohi Bher caught two drug peddlers namely Salman and Kamran and recovered 1590 gram hashish, 25 gram Ice and 10 Ecstasy pills. PS Aabpara nabbed two drug peddlers namely Sheroz and Majid and recovered 295 gram hashish from their possession.
SSP Operations Dr. Syed Mustafa Tanveer said that Capital Cops would continue crackdown against those involved in drug peddling activities. He also appealed the parents not to give such a space to their children, where they could end up in an irreversible situation.
He also appealed the parents to fulfill their responsibility and not give huge amount of pocket money, which could involve them in such sort of activity. He asked them to take it seriously. “Once any child is involved in drug related criminals cases, his future would be spoiled†, the SSP maintained.
