-Sichuan Liaison Office of the China-Pakistan Business Council launched

CHENGDU: Pakistan agricultural cooperation promotion meeting and the opening ceremony of the Sichuan liaison office of China – Pakistan business council was held in Chengdu on Friday. As Pakistan’s largest trading partner, China has been its largest source of imports and third largest export destination for the last four years in a row.
On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Pakistan, the official launch of the Sichuan Liaison Office of the China-Pakistan Business Council will accelerate the integration of Sichuan into the “China-Pakistan Economic Corridor” and promote bilateral economic and trade cooperation by making full use of Sichuan’s geographical policy advantages and good working foundation with Pakistan.
It is reported that the China-Pakistan Business Council (hereinafter referred to as “Council”) is a bilateral economic and trade exchange mechanism jointly established by China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) and Pakistan Federation of Industry and Commerce, with the aim of strengthening bilateral economic and trade cooperation and promoting trade and investment and other economic and trade activities between enterprises of both countries.
In February 2020, with the approval of China Chamber of International Commerce and Sichuan Provincial People’s Government, the Council set up a Liaison Office in Sichuan Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) (hereinafter referred to as the Liaison Office).
Since its establishment over a year ago, the Liaison Office has focused on standardizing procedures, organizing the fight against the epidemic, holding economic and trade activities, and strengthening information exchange. It has made full use of domestic and foreign resources to promote trade. While focusing on normalizing the epidemic, it has steadily promoted the solid progress of all the work of the Liaison Office and achieved tangible results.
With the official establishment of the liaison office, it will take the initiative to integrate into the overall situation of national diplomacy in the future, combine the China-Pakistan Corridor project and the needs of enterprises in our province, and base on its own advantages in liaison.
