All means to be utilized to prevent dengue spread in Faisalabad: DC

Faisalabad: Deputy Commissioner, Muhammad Ali has said that, the district administration would use all its resources for the prevention of dengue however, public cooperation is necessary for the eradication of dengue larvae. He said this while leading an awareness walk along with Parliamentarians, Ch. Latif Nazar, Shakeel Shahid and Firdous Rai on the occasion of Anti-Dengue day on the directions of Punjab government. Additional Deputy Commissioner General, Khurram Pervaiz, Assistant Commissioner City Syed Ayub Bukhari, CEO District Health Authority Dr. Mushtaq Ahmed Sipra, District Health Officer Dr. Bilal Ahmed, District Coordinator for Infectious Diseases Dr. Zulqarnain and other doctors besides Lady Health Workers participated in this walk.
The walk started from the DHO office and ended at the District Council Chowk. The participants of the walk carried banners and placards with the slogans “Dengue prevention, shared responsibility”, “Clean environment, dengue free” and other writings. The Deputy Commissioner said that dengue was a social problem and for the prevention of dengue larvae, indoor and outdoor surveillance activities are going on uninterruptedly in the district which are yielding encouraging results. He said that certain specific steps must be taken to eliminate all sources of dengue through joint efforts. The Deputy Commissioner said that houses, offices and the surrounding environment should be kept clean, water should not be left standing in any place and change should be made in the lifestyle so that dengue can be defeated. He also distributed pamphlets on precautionary measures to motorcyclists and passers-by in District Council Chowk and said that they also have a great responsibility to control dengue larvae. Keep a close eye on trays, water tanks and other places.
The Parliamentarians said that Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar was directly monitoring the Anti-Dengue surveillance across the province. They said that don’t forget because not only corona but also dengue is also deadly. District Coordinator, Epidemiology, said that Anti-Dengue teams are regularly inspecting junkyards, tyre shops, cemeteries, plant nurseries and other places indoors and outdoors to control dengue larvae and conduct awareness seminars walks and other programs are further being organized.
