Gang of looters busted, valuables recovered

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Industrial Area police arrested a notorious gang (Billa Gang) of looters and recovered cash Rs. 7.6 million, jewellery, mobile phones, bike and weapons, a police spokesman said.
Following the orders of the Inspector General of Police Islamabad Qazi Jamil ur Rehman, he said that a grand targeted operation in the Capital is being conducted against anti-social elements and to secure the city.
Spokesman said that, a citizen reported his complaint with Industrial-Area police station that he came to a snooker club situated at Stadiam road Rawalpindi to receive cash from his partner. After collecting the cash he was going back to DHA in his carry van and when he stopped on 9th avenue signal, four unknown accused with weapons surrounded his van and snatched the cash.
On his complaint, Industrial-Area police registered first information report (FIR) and started investigation.
SSP (Operations) Dr Syed Mustafa Tanweer took the notice of the incident and assigned task to SP Industrial-Area Fida Hussain Satti for arrest of culprits and to recover the looted cash.
Following these directions, SP Industrial-Area constituted special police team under supervision of ASP Abdul Aleem headed by SHO Industrial Area Adeel Shoukat alongwith Muhammad Rasheed ASI and others. This police team worked hard and with the help of CCTV cameras and modern technology traced and arrested one main accused namely Bilal alias Billa leader of the gang. This accused confessed about his co-accused. Police team raided successfully and arrested four accused later identified as Mir Vais s/o Ziar Gul, Asif Khan s/o Matawal Khan, Sadam s/o Nasir Khan and Gul Sher s/o Sher Afzal. The accused have confessed 03 more incidents of dacoity, further investigation is underway.
DIG (Operations) Afzaal Ahmed Kausar and SSP (Operations) Dr Syed Mustafa Tanweer have appreciated Police performance and announced cash rewards and commendation certificates for team.
