COAS stresses preparedness to overcome future bullying

-Installs Lt-Gen Majid as Colonel Commandant of Punjab Regiment

RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Friday stresses on Armed Forces’ preparedness to overcome all types of bullying in the future, Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement.
The statement said Gen. Bajwa made the remarks during his visit to the Punjab Regimental Centre (PRC).
During the visit, COAS installed Lieutenant General Majid Ehsan, Inspector General Arms as Colonel Commandant of the Punjab Regiment. Outgoing Colonel Commandant of the Punjab Regiment Lieutenant General Shahid Baig Mirza (Retired), a large number of serving and retired officers and soldiers attended the ceremony.
While interacting with the officers and troops, COAS appreciated the Regiment for displaying the highest standards in all professional pursuits, including their exemplary performance in operations. He also said that Pakistan Army would do all that is possible to modernize the arm of the Infantry as part of its overall drive to prepare for future threats.
Earlier on arrival at Punjab Regimental Centre, COAS was received by the Incoming, Outgoing Colonel Commandants and Commandant of Punjab Regimental Centre. COAS also laid a floral wreath at Yadgar-e-Shuhada.
In 2018, Lt General Majid Ehsan was appointed as Corps Commander Lahore, while Lt General Amir Riaz has been appointed President National Defence University. Lt Gen Amir Riaz was previously serving as Corps Commander Lahore. Lieutenant General Majid Ehsan, Hilal-e-Imtiaz (Military) was commissioned in a Distinguished Battalion of Punjab Regiment in 1986. The General Officer is a graduate of Command & Staff College Quetta, Command & Staff College, Cairo, Egypt and Armed Forces War Course from National Defence University, Islamabad.–ISPR
