RAWALPINDI: Two soldiers were martyred as a result of an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) blast in North Waziristan, the Inter-Services Public Relations said in a statement on Tuesday.
According to the military’s media wing the incident took place when security forces were conducting an area clearance operation in North Waziristan’s Dosalli area.
The Pakistan army troops, following the event, had immediately cordoned off the area to apprehend the terrorists involved in planting the IED, the military’s media wing said. During the intense exchange of fire, one of the terrorists, who was trying to flee, got killed, the ISPR said, adding that the clearance operation is still in progress to eliminate any other terrorists found in the area.
On August 31, a Pakistan Army soldier had martyred in an improvised explosive device (IED) blast in South Waziristan district’s Asman Manza, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR). The military’s media wing said the blast occurred during a clearance operation by security forces. The martyred soldier was identified as Sepoy Wajid Ullah, 25, who is a resident of Karak.
The ISPR said the troops immediately cordoned off the area to apprehend terrorists involved in planting the IED.–ISPR
