RAWALPINDI: Senior journalist and employee of The News has been deprived of his smart mobile phone by robbers on Murree Road in the limits of Waris Khan police station.
Journalist named Amir Khan told the police that he was on his way to his office housed in Daily Jang building in the evening of Thursday when all of a sudden two armed men riding a motor bike snatched his smart mobile phone near Moti Mehal area and fled away from the scene. Police registered a case against unidentified robbers and started an investigation. Meanwhile, this incident of mobile phone has sent a wave of resentment among the journalist community and they demanded of the police high ups to take cognizance of the incidents of mobile and purse snatching which are on the rise in the city. They have also demanded stern action against the culprits behind the felonious activities.
