ISLAMABAD: Over 2000 personnel of Capital police would perform duties on the occasion of Eid-Milad-un-Nabi to be observed across the country on October 19, Tuesday.
Islamabad Police have chalked out a comprehensive security plan for main procession of 12th Rabi ul Awal and strict patrolling would be ensured during processions and other religious gatherings in the city.
The security plan was formally reviewed in a meeting here on Sunday presided over by DIG Operations Afzal Ahmed Kausar on the special directions of IGP Islamabad Qazi Jamil ur Rehman. SSP Operations, all Zonal SPs and other senior officials of Islamabad Police attended the meeting.
Islamabad Police including Rangers and personnel of other law enforcement agencies would perform patrolling and security duties on the occasion and main procession starting from Sector G-7 would be completely cordoned off through heavy deployment. Procession would start from sector G-7 (Sitara Market) and to culminate near shrine of Hazrat Sakhi Mehmud at Aabpara market after passing through various routes.
The monitoring of processions would be ensured through drone cameras and CCTV cameras. The video footage of the processions would also be made from the front and backside of the process
All SPs, SDPOs, SHOs and other police officials would visit the routes of procession and ensure effective coordination among the security personnel performing duties. Police officials would guide the cops and boost their morale in accomplishing duties in a responsible manner.
The teams of CTF, police commandoes would perform security duties on the occasion while special teams of Rangers, CID and Special Branch police would assist in smooth performance of their duties.
The police officers including SPs would also visit various police posts lying in the route of procession, check security duties and brief cops as how to ensure effective security.
