Police, ACE teams raid SBCA office

KARACHI: A day after the registration of a criminal case against the builder of Nasla Tower, officials of the Sindh Building Control Authority and others, teams of the police and anti-corruption establishment (ACE) raided the SBCA office in Karachi on Wednesday.
The police team led by District East SSP investigation Altaf Hussain conducted the raid at the SBCA headquarters and questioned the officers about the approval of the building plan of Nasla Tower.
Speaking to the media after the raid, the SSP said the police are conducting raids at the homes of the officer responsible for approving the building plan, but no arrest has been made as yet.
A team of the anti-corruption establishment also carried out a raid at the SBCA office. This was the second raid by an ACE team in two days. Nasla Tower, a multi-storey residential building on Shahrah-e-Faisal, is being demolished on the orders of the Supreme Court.
Earlier, the Ferozeabad police registered an FIR against the builder of Nasla Tower, officials of the SBCA, Sindhi Muslim Cooperative Housing Society and the plot owner. The case was lodged on behalf of the state and include various sections of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC).
