‘Nowshera SEZs are safe, secure for foreign investors’

PESHAWAR: Nowshera Police have assured Chinese investors of full security and a peaceful environment in the Special Economic Zones (SEZs) and industrial estates in the district.

Deputy Superintendent Police (DSP) Security/Headquarters District Nowshera told Chinese investors from Chang Xing New Energy Technology (Pvt) Ltd that all the police have taken security measures to “safeguard foreign and local investors”.

The DSP held discussion with the Chinese investors on the occasion of visiting Export Processing Zone (EPZ) Risalpur, Nowshera. The police official said that the district is secure and peaceful for the local and foreign investors.

Earlier this week, Javed Iqbal Khattak, CEO of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Economic Zones Development And Management Company (KPEZDMC) held a meeting with a concerned Pakistan Army official regarding the security matters of RSEZ. Both officials showed satisfaction over the existing security at the zone.

Prime Minister Imran on Thursday along with his team embarked on a four-day visit to China to attend the opening ceremony of Winter Olympics and meet political leadership and business leaders.

According to Finance Minister Shaukat Tarin, the Prime Minister will offer Chinese leadership to relocate their industry to Pakistan’s SEZs for a win-win situation in addition to extending assistance in Agriculture.

Nowshera is home to several SEZs and industrial estates, which could be one of the leading destinations for the Chinese investors.

Rashakai SEZ, a flagship project under industrial cooperation of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) framework, is located in Nowshera. Other existing zones and industrial estate in the district include Jalozai Economic Zone, EPZ Risalpur and Nowshera Economic Zone (NEZ) while NEZ extensional is another proposed zone. -Agencies
