ISLAMABAD: FIA initiated crackdown against laboratories generating fake Corona reports. The labs that came under fire remained at G-8 and Blue Area namely Diagnostic Biogene Laboratory and Nimra Diagnostic Lab. Cases have been registered against the owners and workers of the given labs.
Both laboratories had issued Corona negative reports that FIA Immigration officials deemed suspicious and sent to FIA Islamabad Zone for probe. During investigation, it was revealed that the reports sent from airport were nowhere in the system of the given laboratories not manually found in the place. Moreover, WhatsApp communication was also found between the lab owners, workers and travel agents. The travel agents used to send only copy of passports and tickets to the lab workers on which, within 5 to 10 minutes, without any sample, whatsoever, Corona negative reports were generated and sent back to the travel agents.
The fake reports were made only for those travelling abroad. More laboratories, airlines and govt officials are expected to be involved in the scandal.
The entire operation took place on the able directives of Director Islamabad Zone Waqar Ahmad Chohan who instructed Deputy Director Zubair Ahmad Sheikh to formulate a raiding team. The team, through successful operation, busted 9 workers of NIH lab 2. The culprits were found to be issuing fake Corona negative reports in exchange of a couple of bucks.
The accused did not just played with precious lives through fake reports but also attempted to deface the health policy of Pakistan before the rest of the world. Judicial remand of the accused has been attained from the relevant courts. Further investigation is underway from the accused.
Director FIA Islamabad Zone has stated that strict action would be taken against those elements who would try to defame Pakistsn.
