| Emphasizes Balochistan’s true potential to be realised through national effort | Visits Turbat, receives detailed briefing on security situation

RAWALPINDI: During a day-long visit to Turbat, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Tuesday reiterated that the true potential of Balochistan will be realised through comprehensive national effort, the military said.
According to military’s media wing, the ISPR, the army chief was given a detailed briefing on security situation of the province and border management measures being implemented by the security forces. The COAS, it said in a statement, appreciated morale and operational preparedness of the troops and showed satisfaction on successful operations against terrorists.
Later, Gen Qamar visited University of Turbat and had a detailed interactive session with a large number of representatives from all segments of society from Kech district including local leaders and notables, tribal elders, students, lawyers and women.
“Balochistan’s youth is very talented and must capitalise on the available opportunities being created for their education and skill development,” he was quoted by the ISPR as saying. The COAS also encouraged the youth to join local law enforcement forces and contribute towards the security and stability of the area. “Peace and prosperity of Balochistan is the top priority and Pakistan Army will do all to provide peaceful environment for population centric socio-economic projects in the province,” he stressed.
“The people of Balochistan have given great sacrifices for development and stability of the area. Through Comprehensive National effort, true potential of Balochistan will be realised,” he added.
The army chief was received by Commander Quetta Corps Lieutenant General Sarfraz Ali upon his arrival in Turbat. –ISPR
