2 bootleggers held, 65 liquor bottles recovered

ISLAMABAD: The Capital police have exposed a network of liquor sellers and arrested two accused including a woman.
Following orders of IGP Islamabad Muhammad Ahsan Younas, a massive anti-drug campaign is under progress.
According to details, Kohsar police station got a tip-off that liquor supply business was being carried out in a house of F-7 on which SP City Kamran Amir Khan directed the concerned police station to take immediate action. Under the supervision of SDPO Kohsar Beenish Uzair, SHO Kohsar Police Station Shabbir Ahmed Tanoli, after obtaining a search warrant, along with policemen and lady police personnel raided at a House No. 9, Street No. 48, in Sector F-7/4.
During the raid, 36 bottles of imported liquor were recovered from the room of accused Brishna Pervez and 29 bottles of imported liquor from the room of accused Ali. Both the accused were arrested. Kohsar police station registered a case against the accused.
During the preliminary investigation, the accused revealed that they used to supply liquor to their customers through WhatsApp in posh sectors of Islamabad with the help of their accomplices.
IG Islamabad Muhammad Ahsan Younas appreciated the performance of the police team and said that steps were being taken to rid Islamabad of such abominable smuggling as drugs and so far arrested hundreds of drug and liquor dealers and sent them behind bars. He said that the crackdowns will continue in the future.
