PM’s industrial support package lauded

ISLAMABAD Former president of Islamabad chamber of commerce
and industry and Group CEO of The Centaurus Sardar Yasir Ilyas Khan on
Friday lauded the industrial support package by Prime Minister Imran Khan
terming it a good decision that will promote industrialization in the
country.

The package will increase production, exports and productivity and help the
export sector to compete with the regional players in the international
market, he said.

Talking to a delegation of businesswomen led by Naima Ansari, President of
the Islamabad women chamber of commerce and industry (IWC|CI), he said that
the reduction of Rs10 per litre in prices of petroleum products and Rs5 per
unit in electricity tariff will relieve the public during the ongoing tough
times.

Yasir emphasized n the importance of women’s economic empowerment and his
firm belief towards providing equal employment and business opportunities
for working women as well as entrepreneurs.

He stated that 52 percent of the population consists of females, and they
are contributing as much to the economy as their male counterparts.

The delegation which included Sadaf Asim Abbasi SVP IWCCI and Rubina Shafqat
VP IWCCI discussed the imminent need of conducting business expos and trade
fairs where women can help market their products and services.

Sardar Yasir assured the delegation that the Sardar Group of Companies would
extend all possible support towards organizing roadshows, expos, and
marketing events to help women entrepreneurs gain further market share.

He stressed the need to help start-ups by connecting them with potential
investors looking to diversify into various new fields, and business
networking would play an integral part in this.

Economic prosperity is dependent upon the vision, guidance and support of
business leaders who are visionary to support smaller businesses by
providing an enabling environment to grow and flourish, he underlined.

On the occasion, founder president IWCCI Samina Fazil underlined the
importance of women empowerment and demanded of the government to announce a
package supporting women entrepreneurs who have been badly hit by pandemic
and runaway inflation.
